Around the dining room table…
Would you agree that this virus epidemic has slowed life down? That is not a bad thing. When life is constantly in high gear, we start to move faster than we can sustain. Something has to be forfeited and suddenly, we lose sight of what is truly important. When I was growing up, the time my family spent around the dining room table was priceless. It was a place where family traditions and values started, where emotions were displayed, where expectations were shared, where respect was planted, where lessons were learned and where appreciation was voiced. Life is not always easy and the time we spent around the dining room table was like an anchor of security, understanding that family was always there to help and that I would never be alone. I can see now that it was the glue that held not only our family together, but planted the seed of hope for the future. I think this may be one positive that comes out of the present epidemic; by slowing life down, we start to realize that family time is truly priceless. It may take a little while for our mental state to relax, but lets sit around the dining room table share our feelings with one another. While this epidemic is short term, our family is forever. Let’s enjoy this time together.
