Cathy and I were on the Oregon coast for Christmas.  In the morning, we enjoyed wrapping up in a blanket and having coffee on the balcony.  It was a little brisk, but refreshing to hear the pounding of the surf, listening to the seagulls, and to see the gray haze turn pink with the rising of the sun, with the anticipation of what the day was going to bring.

As we lead into the New Year, the months ahead are like the rising sun.  We can imagine what the New Year will bring, but there is much hidden in the rosy pink haze of tomorrow.  It can be exciting if we choose it to be.  We have the opportunity to make it what we want, limited only by our own imagination.

Here is a suggestion: As we begin 2020, make a list of the most important things to you.  Whatever that list includes, keep it in front of you daily, never losing sight of how much we have to be thankful for.

I know that may sound a little “Pollyanna”, but it is our decision on how we approach situations that will enter our lives this year.  Keep that list in front of you and reference it daily.  It is always good to appreciate what you have been given.
